Travel as lightly as possible, and keep
in mind the season in the country at the time of your stay. Summers are
hot. Remember most things can be bought overseas. Leave the expensive
jewelry at home, but be sure to have an inexpensive wristwatch. A money
belt isn’t a bad idea. Although most areas are very safe, where there
are crowds, there could be pickpockets.

Clothes:
Minimal dress clothes (dress or suit for
women, and suit, tie, slacks and sport jacket for men)
Dress shoes
Casual clothes, including jeans, pants and a lightweight windbreaker
Shorts and T-shirts
Sneakers, sandals and comfortable walking shoes
Bathing suit
Comfortable underwear
First Aid and Personal Items:
Tooth brush, toothpaste and other oral
care products
Lens care products
Extra glasses and sunglasses
Prescription medicine, and a copy of the doctor’s prescription
Over-the-counter medicines for colds, allergies, diarrhea, travel
sickness, headaches
Also, antibiotic cream, eye drops, sun block, band-Aids, lip balm, bug
spray, towelettes with alcohol, deodorant, vitamins, and feminine
hygiene products
Hair brush, hair dryer (if you must), cosmetics, small mirror, sewing
kit, Swiss army knife
Address book; especially email addresses and phone numbers.
